Robotic cutting
Junction & branch reinstatement
A full-length liner seals everything it passes: including the live junctions where branch lines from bathrooms, kitchens and laundries join the main run. Junction reinstatement sends a robotic cutter down the newly lined pipe to mill each connection open again, restoring flow from every branch without a single hole dug above.
Scope
What this covers
Locating each covered junction from the pre-lining survey log
Robotic cutting to re-open branch connections through the cured liner
Trimming and finishing the cut edges to a smooth transition
Camera verification of flow from every reinstated branch
Timing
When it's needed
Whenever a full-length liner passes live junctions, which is nearly always on a house main. The count and position of junctions is established before lining begins, so reinstatement is planned into the job rather than discovered after fixtures back up.
Wastewater surfacing at gullies, floor wastes or garden level is a health hazard: keep children and pets away, wear gloves for any contact with affected items, and ventilate rooms where sewage has entered. Repeated surcharging during heavy rain can indicate a problem in Sydney Water's network rather than your private line, worth reporting before paying for private works.
Quote variables
What shapes the scope
Number of junctions the liner crosses on the run
Angle and geometry of each branch connection
Liner thickness and resin hardness at each cut
Access for the cutting robot within the pipe diameter
Drainage work in NSW, relining included, falls under the plumbing and drainage licensing scheme administered by NSW Fair Trading, and work on the house service line must observe Sydney Water's requirements at the point of connection. Verify the drainage licence of whoever performs the lining, and treat post-work CCTV footage as part of the deliverable, not an optional extra.
